Limited Controls, Infinite Depth
Sadly, the game is only released as a demo right now, but it appears that on the Steam page for it, the developers have said that it will be released in about a months time, and God, am I stoked for that! This game was Greenlit but a large community of fans, and by all rights should have been. I'm excited to be able to watch a Construct 2 game gain popularity like this, because it grows our development community, and draws more attraction to all games shared around Scirra, and the developers that make up the community. Everyone wins from the simple success of a game like Blitz Breaker.
If you haven't guessed by now, I usually have a hard time coming up with titles, but even though this one is extremely basic, it pretty well sums up exactly what Blitz Breaker's gameplay is in a nutshell. It's that kind of action packed game that will get your blood pumping when you encounted certain stages, like that crazy freaking Mish Masher at the end of the demo!
On the right here you can see my pathetic attempts at trying to beat that Mish Masher level (I did beat it, I swear! XD), and with that you can also see precisely how the gameplay mechanics work. It's almost like if you mirged Metroid and Gir (Invader Zim) and disabled all knowledge of walking, then told them not to get squished by something by using but their dash ability...
Yupp, this is exactly the vibe I got from this curious game.
I guess the only thing about this game that this level gif doesn't show off well is the puzzling part of the game, but that is during more slow paced levels that require more pondering that trying not to get squished, cut up, or otherwise seriously injured.
